MY PURPOSE

Ever had a passion burning inside you to do something greater for the Kingdom of God?? A passion that could not be quenched until it became manifested into reality?? A passion bigger than your self, your thoughts or your human imagination?? This kind of passion is why I am writing to you now. This kind of passion is why this site exists. This kind of passion is my driving force for the present and the future.

A LITTLE HISTORY

I'll not take you back through my childhood, but I will go back to when my wife and I were living in Mt. Dora FL, and attending church services in Apopka. This is where I wrote my first "public" poem. The poem was entitled "A Mother's Love", and as the title may suggest, it was to honor Mother's Day. Now, let's skip ahead to our 10yr residence in Brunswick GA. While attending church services there I became very involved in coordinating special services and was able to develop my creativity, which is a talent I feel GOD has bestowed upon me. To explain myself a bit, I feel everything I am, and every talent I have is God given, so I pay Him honor to acknowledge His gifts. If I felt it was about me, then I would be bragging, but since it's all about Him it would be a disservice to belittle, or discount His gifts. Well, with that out of the way let us go forth. Since we have been living in Alexandria AL and attending church services in Anniston, I have had the opportunity to expand my creativity to the multimedia platform. I have received many positive comments about the special church services I've coordinated, especially the poems and multimedia programs. Over the years He has blessed me with inspiration for poetic content of numerous poems, and although I am proud of every work God has given me, I must admit that I play favorites. Most of the poems have developed during preparation for special church services, but the inspiration for one, in particular, woke me up one morning, within a week of "911". I could not ignore my thoughts so I got up and wrote the poem "911 to God's Loveline" in less than an hour. I was feeling very uneasy about the way retaliation/revenge was so prevalent on most people's minds. The acts done on that day were horrendous, to say the least, but when I look at what was done to Jesus, I still don't recall revenge being His response. I seem to remember Him giving a "last-minute" lesson in forgiveness to a fellow human being, one that was actually guilty of a crime punishable by crucifixion. My other favorite is "When It Was We", and I even have the vision to see this one adapted for a movie. This poem came about while preparing for a "Pastor Appreciation" service I was in charge of. The inspiration just flowed from my mind, through my fingers, the pen and onto the paper. It has special meaning to me because of who I was writing it to honor, my pastor/wife, at the time.
